Hesdin was born from the spirit of Arnulf de Hesdin — the original owner of this land; a medieval knight famed not for The Battle of Hastings ( too much mud darling) but for bringing people together— the Hesdin Estate was shaped around one belief: people thrive when they’re together.
Arnulf understood something simple and powerful: Loyalty wasn’t forged in mud — it was forged around long tables and stories told late into the night. That’s where Arnulf believed life really happened.
So when he laid the foundations of Hesdin, he built it around the things he loved most: big tables for big meals, loud laughter, fierce games, good wine, long conversations, and the kind of connection that stays with you long after everyone’s gone home.

The Legend behind
Arnulf and Ava.
Gifted the land by William The Conquerer Arnulf and his wife Lady Ava transformed Hesdin into the most sought-after gathering place of the age. If you were lucky enough to receive an invitation, you knew the night would end with full bellies, fierce games and new friendships forged over wine rather than war.
Word spread of evenings that turned strangers into confidants, of games that lasted until dawn, of Lady Ava’s unapologetically lavish feasts, and of Arnulf’s gift for making every person at his table feel special. People travelled miles not for spectacle, but for connection.
Centuries later, his legacy lives on — in every games room, tournament table, and hot tub conversation across The Hesdin Estate. Here, laughter is the language. Banter is the battle cry. And everyone leaves with a heart glowing of togetherness.

THE HESDIN WAY
Hesdin does big properly. Not the usual “three lodges scattered across a field, everyone crammed into one sad living room with a chipped mug from a car boot to sip from. If a place says it sleeps 12 but only gives you six forks… darling, that’s not hosting — that’s hardship.
We built our homes the opposite way round: start with the togetherness, then build the walls around it. Long tables that seat everyone. Spaces that don’t make you choose who gets a sofa cushion. Pools, saunas, hot tubs — all yours, all private, all waiting.
